Celebration of Life

In Loving Memory

It is with profound sadness that the family announces the passing of Marian Denise Klimek (nรฉe Giroux) on May 16, 2026, at Walker House Niagara Hospice in Welland, Ontario, at the age of 71.
She will be forever cherished by her husband of 43 years, Edwin; her daughters, Caroline (Evan Boyce) and Madeline; and her adored granddaughter, Edyth, who brought her immeasurable joy. She is also remembered by her sister, Janine (Dianne Crosbie), nephew Corbin, as well as many dear friends whose lives were enriched by her kindness, wit, and generosity of spirit. Marian was predeceased by her parents, Arthur and Margaret Giroux, and by her brother, Harry.
Throughout her remarkable life, Marian embraced many roles with grace, intelligence, and determination. She began her career as a public health nurse and, after completing her Masterโs degree, worked as a research nurse in Clinical Epidemiology at McMaster University Medical Centre. She was also an entrepreneur and co-owner of The Feathered Bed, and the steady hand and trusted support behind her husbandโs medical practice.
Beyond her professional accomplishments, Marian was a woman of extraordinary passion, warmth, and vitality. She was a Christmas decorator extraordinaire; a tireless school fundraising volunteer; a voracious reader; a formidable card and mah-jong player; a gifted classical pianist; a fearless and adventurous cook; and an unmistakable arbiter of style and good taste. Of all the roles she carried throughout her life, the one she treasured most was Mom.
Visitation will be held on Friday, May 22, 2026, from 4:00โ7:00 p.m., with a funeral Mass on Saturday, May 23, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Pleasant View Funeral Home in Fonthill, Ontario.
The family wishes to extend thanks beyond words to Marianโs dear friend, Holly Newton, whose devotion, compassion, and humour made this difficult journey easier.
We also wish to express our heartfelt appreciation to the nurses, PSWs, and staff of Walker House Niagara Hospice for their compassionate end-of-life care. If desired, expressions of sympathy may be made to Hospice Niagara in Marianโs honour.
